A hot and hearty dip of beef, beans and cheese. Serve with chunks of bread, crackers or chips.
Ingredients
- 1/2lb ground beef or sausage
- 1/2 cup onion (minced)
- 1 can kidney beans (15 1/2 ounce`)
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
- salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- dash cayenne pepper
- 1/2lb cheddar cheese (diced)
Directions
Sauté beef or sausage in skillet until done and drain off fat. Add onion and cook until onion is translucent but not browned. | |
Add beans with the liquid. Mash with a fork until blended with meat and onion. Add catsup and spices. Simmer about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. | |
Add cheese and continue stirring until cheese is melted. Serve in chafing dish or crock pot with crackers or French bread cubes as dippers. |
