Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone.
Carol from Blue Sky Kitchen put together our party this week and she had this message to share.
We hope you are having a safe and fun end~of~summer, beginning~of~fall few days. Before I share the Happiness is Homemade Link Party 187 and this week's features with you, I just have to say, as a Texan, thank you for the outpouring of support and prayers for my state.
I'm in Dallas, so, except for some rain, cooler temperatures, and long lines at the gas stations (and inflated prices), we have not been directly affected by the devastation experienced by our fellow Texans to the south. You may just think of Texas as a really big state in area, but it's our heart and sacrifice that makes us who we are. As you've seen on TV, we believe in helping ourselves and helping each other, not waiting for someone from somewhere outside our borders to come rescue us. Neighbors helping neighbors. Thankfully, everyone we know personally is safe. I know a lot of Texas bloggers who have had some damage to their homes. It will be a long time before things are "normal" again, but keep those thoughts and prayers coming our way. Texas will rise again.
#FoodBloggers4TX
A group of food bloggers are organizing Food Bloggers for Texas on September 12. All food bloggers are invited to share our support for Texas by posting a Texas themed recipe and sharing links to reputable charities. If you can't post that day you are invited to link up any older Texas recipes and spread the word on social media. Join the Facebook Group here for more information and to sign up.

Our Features this Week
For our features this week, I went with a farmhouse/DIY theme because we love farmhouse anything and DIY is near and dear to our hearts.
Let's start with Michele from The Scrap Shoppe who made these awesome storage bins from fabric. Think of all the decorative possibilities since you can chose the colors and patterns and size you need for your decor.
We all like our entries to be a welcoming place for guests and a functional spot for family. Sandy of Sandy ala Mode created this practical and pretty entry in her home. I love how bright and welcoming it is.
Oh, farmhouse decor, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Kate of The Organized Dream found 20 ways to celebrate the appeal of farmhouse design and fall.
Bonnie of Farmhouse 40 shared this adorable sunflower pillow with great step~by~step instructions. It's the perfect accessory as we transition into fall.
