This week was going along wonderfully, with the release of my first cookbook on Kindle (more on that in a minute) then at 3:57 pm Wednesday lightening struck about a mile from my house igniting the Tenaja Fire.

It came within about a quarter mile of our home on Thursday afternoon, burning completely down that hill and up to the fences of the homes that back to the wildland, Luckily we remained on voluntary evacuation orders. Our bags were packed and we were ready to go if the winds kicked up again, but the fire fighting crews stood their ground and only two homes had minor fire damage. Way too close for comfort!
I'd breath a sigh of relief, but there is still too much smoke and ash around, haha! cough! cough! cough!
So, about the book. It is 50 Fabulous Recipes for a Tea Party, and you can download it for your Kindle, or have a copy printed for a little more (hint, download the free Kindle reader for Android, iOS or PC and get it that way).
And with that I am going to hand you over to Lisa for our regularly scheduled party.

Thank you for hosting! This is what was served during the week 9-2- to 9-6 in my home. On Tuesday morning was Apple and Cinnamon Steel Cut Oatmeal. Wednesday we served a delicious Marinated Apple Pork Tenderloin. Wrapping up this first apple week in Michigan we enjoyed an Apple Streusel French Toast Bake. Enjoy!
