Wow! How did it get to be the week before Christmas already? Busy, busy, busy! There were so many more recipes I wanted to post, cards I wanted to send, blogs I wanted to write, decorations I wanted to put up but I think my family, friends and I will be happier if I just slow down and enjoy what the week has to offer (after I bake the cookies for the neighbors of course).
We just got back from a few days in the Arizona desert visiting Ma'am in Tucson. Brought some sourdough bread and ripe 60% cream brie from California then I stuffed her freezer full of chili cheese and lasagna. Here is her recipe, but I prefer the recipe on the back of the Barilla Oven Ready Lasagna box (my only change is to spice up the ground beef before adding a la the Janesz Family Best Italian Sausage).
Now I am home and trying to figure out what to cook for Christmas dinner for the three of us. Where else do I turn but the website. Still not sure what I am making, because I do not want to go back to the store again this week. So I may just have to get creative with what I have in house.
Here is a list of Ma'am's suggestions for Christmas and New Years:
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope that as you sit down with family and friends to enjoy a joyous holiday meal that YOU REMEMBER TO WRITE DOWN THE FAMILY RECIPES! (subtle enough for you?)
Until next time, happy eating!
