I had a meltdown earlier today when my cooking got snubbed again! Living with two people whose tastes are so different than my own just really got to me today. If I left them to their own devices, these two would eat nothing but overly processed, packaged CRAP!
I felt like a prophet that is ignored in his homeland. Really, guys? I blog about making things from scratch but you only want storebought bread and blue box crap-a-roni and cheese? Sigh. I know, I am overly tired today and that is making more sensitive than normal. (Or it's a premenopausal moment, same difference).
Then I looked at my e-mail and saw that I had been chosen to be one of The Foodie Blogroll's Featured Blogs this week. Yeah me!
If you happen to be visiting from the site, I assure you 99% of my blog posts are recipes or at least food related and not just me having a pity party. I save that for my "other" blog.
The other features blogs are a load of fun and you really should check them out:
prachi's veg kitchen - Indian food
Violet Details - Swedish food and fashion
Ginger Bear Kitchen - American food and photography
Houselements - Filipino food, fitness and crafts
I found several recipes on each that I can't wait to try out, even if I am the only one that ends up eating them.

Wouldn't it be great if you could get the people you cook for to love your food as much as other bloggers do? Congratulations!

congrats!
I feel that way about my 7yo, who we have deemed a hotdogbolognavegetarian.
I swear, the ONLY meat that touches her lips is the most processed kind (hot dogs and bologna) and God forbid any sauce touches her plate.
So while we have lovely fish and chicken and pasta with lovingly created sauces...she is eating plain buttered noodles. Or mac-n-cheese in a cup. Thank goodness she eats cheese, yogurt and all her fruits/veggies, but geez. How can that crap taste better than my cooking?

I know most Moms feel this way at one time or another. I am hoping it is a phase he will outgrow and not end up like his father (just kidding, Honey).

Hi Audrey! Oh, I know how you feel - I have been there! Things around our house have changed though. When the kids moved out and went to University, they came to realize they really do like homemade foods much better than those you buy in a package! Keep it up they will learn to appreciate your efforts! Nice to have you in my tribe this week - it's great to make new friends!

My brother and I certainly did appreciate good cooking much more once we grew up. Now he's a chef and I do this blog.
