    White Chocolate Cran-Oat Cookies

September 4, 2014 Filed Under: Uncategorized

Today is the first Thursday of the month so that means it is time for another installment of Fill The Cookie Jar, when some amazing bloggers get together and make cookies based on a monthly theme. Our September theme is "Fall".

    Ah, Fall.

When the days start to shorten and the weather begins to cool. Unless you live in California where the weather NEVER seems to cool. But, let's pretend it is actually a chilly morning for argument's sake, shall we? On those mornings nothing is better to me than a nice bowl of oatmeal.

So, I knew I was making some kind of oatmeal cookie. But Oatmeal Scotchies or Oatmeal Raisin seemed a bit overdone. Pecans are a fall crop, but I am saving that for November's theme. Wait a minute, not raisins, but Craisins! (not a sponsor). Cranberries are a fall crop. And what is that in my cupboard next to the dried cranberries? White Chocolate. Ladies and gentleman, we have a cookie: White Chocolate Cranberry Oat Cookies!

And the exciting part about these cookies was getting to try out two of my new appliances - three if you count the fridge that stored the eggs and butter.

Speaking of the butter, I didn't want to sit around and wait for the butter to soften so I put it in the microwave and pressed the "Soften" button and then chose butter.

EEEEEE! So exciting! And it was the perfect mixing temperature when done too.

And, of course, the cookies baked in my gorgeous blue interior oven on the Convection Bake setting. Sigh! no pan rotation or worrying the cookies in the back would be crispy and those on the front undercooked. Just simple even cooking.

My taste testers included some adults and one 4 year old girl who kept demonstrating her math skills, "There are 4 cookies left and 4 people." big grin. "Now there are 3 cookies left"... I think she ate 4 all buy herself. And considering her mom has been struggling to get her to eat anything, I'd say that's a win!

I hope you enjoy these cookies and check out the other recipes from my fellow bloggers at the bottom.

    xt time, happy eating!
    ~Audrey

YUM! They remind me of a cookie I make the in the fall. I love my microwave that has the same soften/melt butter/chocolate feature. Makes baking whenever I want so easy!
