Sourdough Waffles and Sourdough Pancakes offer a delicious tangy alternative to traditional pancakes or waffles. The same batter can be used to make both.
Ingredients
1cupSourdough starter
1tablespoonsugar
2tablespoonsvegetable oil
1Large egg
1/4teaspoonsalt
1/2teaspoonbaking sodadissolved in 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
Heat waffle iron or griddle.
In a glass or plastic bowl, combine sourdough starter, sugar, oil, egg and salt until smooth.
Add baking soda dissolved in water and fold gently. Batter should be thin!
Cook as you would any other waffle or pancake recipe.
Notes
Sourdough pancakes are supposed to be thin and light. Do not be tempted to add more flour to the batter or you will reduce the delicious sourdough taste.
