Arrange wings on air fryer pan per manufacturer directions. Place a pan underneath to catch drips if appropriate for your air fryer.
Cook for 35 minutes, flipping the wings over and rotating the pan ¼ turn every 7-10 minutes (approximately).
While the wings are cooking, prepare the sauce.
Crush the Szechuan pepper until fine and powdery.
Combine sauce ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer over medium low heat, stirring occasionally, until reduced by half.
In a medium bowl combine cooked wings and glaze and toss to completely coat the wings.
Place wings back on the air fryer pan and broil for 1-2 minutes a side. If your air fryer doesn't broil you might want to place on a baking sheet and broil in your oven.
Notes
Szechuan pepper is not overly spicy, but has a nice citrusy taste to it. If you cannot find them, use a pinch of ground black pepper and a bit of lemon zest if you have it.
