This dish is like hamburger helper only a million times better. And it isn't that much more difficult to make.
It does take about an hour to prep and bake. But, you could easily set it up ahead of time, cover and set it in the fridge. Pull it out while the oven is preheating then bake it until it is heated throughout.
Ingredients for Creamy Beef Noodle Casserole
Nothing hard to find in this recipe, except perhaps the tarragon. It is one of my favorite herbs. But, I know not everyone may have it on hand. Use parsley, basil or oregano if you don't have it.
- wide egg noodles, you could use other pasta if you prefer
- ground beef, or spice it up with sausage
- tomato sauce
- cream cheese and sour cream
- green onion and bell pepper
- salt and pepper and dried tarragon

Ingredients
- 12-16 ounce package wide egg noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 16 ounces tomato sauce
- salt and pepper (to taste)
- 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ⅓ cup green onion, chopped
- 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried tarragon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°. Butter a deep, medium size casserole dish.
- Cook noodles, drain and set aside. While noodles are cooking, brown the ground beef, stir in tomato sauce and season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Combine remaining ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Spread half the noodles in buttered casserole dish. Top with half the meat mixture then then half the cream cheese mixture. Repeat using remainder of the noodles and meat mixture and cheese mixture.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes at 375℉ until heated through.

That casserole looks so creamy good! I love the longer egg noodles in there. Almost thought it was fettuccine. LOL
