Attention all foodies and lovers of bold flavors! Are you tired of the same old condiments and spreads? Are you looking for a unique and mouthwatering addition to your next cheese and charcuterie board? Look no further. This Caramelized Onion Spread will elevate your taste buds to new heights.
Bursting with savory sweetness and enhanced by the subtle hints of herbs, this spread will redefine any dish it touches.

This spread is nothing more than caramelized onions with a little fruit and herbs added in, but you don't need to tell anyone it is that easy.
Usually I make it with dried apricots, which I didn't have this week. But, I did have a few strawberries that needed to be used STAT. It gave it a nice pink hue instead of golden brown.
By using a little dried or fresh fruit, you give it a little extra sweetness without a ton of sugar, making this a "healthier" alternative to other dips and spreads. If a creamy caramelized onion dip is more your style, this one is delicious.
How to Use Caramelized Onion Spread
Is it a spread or a dip? Yes!
This deliciousness can be used as a dip for chips or crudites (fancy food word for veggie sticks). Note that it is rather thick, so serve it with something that can hold up to it like pita chips or crackers. No thin potato chips here.
It is amazing on burgers and sandwiches (grilled cheese!).
Serve it with your cheese or charcuterie board.
Top some steamed vegetables or a baked potato.
