Apricot Liqueur is easy to make at home with just three ingredients. Make delicious cocktails or give as a gift to family and friends.

This lovely Apricot Liqueur makes a unique gift for family and friends. You don't need to tell them how little work is involved.

That's right, with just a few simple ingredients and some patience, you can create your own homemade apricot liqueur that will rival any store-bought brand.

glasses of apricot liqueur and apricots

This literally takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, including a few shakes of the bottle every few days for at least three weeks.

The three weeks steeping time is a minimum. Letting it sit longer with the apricots will intensify the fruity flavor. Even after removing the apricots it will continue to thicken and sweeten over time as the water slowly evaporates.

Don't let the apricots go to waste! Chop them up and swap them for the mangos in this banana bread recipe.

    Apricot Brandy versus Apricot Liqueur

You'd think that apricot brandy would be made with brandy, but that isn't a requirement in most places.

There are some apricot brandies that are made from fermenting apricots. However. most apricot brandies today are made with a neutral spirit (like vodka) so they are actually apricot liqueurs. (source).

For the most part you can use apricot brandy and apricot liqueur interchangeably.

Drinks you can make with Apricot Liqueurs

I use this liqueur as the base for Homemade Amaretto.

If you want to give this as a gift, pour into an attractive bottle then print this Apricot Liqueur Cocktails recipe printable fold it into quarters and attach to the bottle with a pretty ribbon.

Other popular drinks made with apricot liqueurs or apricot brandy:

    • Apricot sour: whiskey sour using apricot brandy in lieu of the whiskey
    • Apricot fizz: made with lemon juice, sugar and club soda
    • Apricot rickey: add lime juice and top it off with seltzer
    • Cannonball: mezcal, lime juice, pineapple juice, and bitters
    • Angel face: apple brandy and gin
    • Playmate martini: orange juice, orange liqueur, egg white, and bitters
    • Baltimore bang: bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup
