Ingredients for Frosted Maple Pecan Blondies
All it takes to make these luscious blondies is basic pantry ingredients:
- all purpose flour
- baking powder and salt
- light brown sugar (or dark if you want more molasses flavor)
- powdered sugar
- pure maple syrup or maple extract
- butter
- cream cheese
- eggs
- pecans chopped and halves for decorating (optional)

Ingredients
Blondies
- Β½ cup butter
- 1 Β½ cups light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon maple extract (or vanilla)
- 1 Β½ cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ΒΌ teaspoon salt
- Β½ cup pecans (chopped)
Maple Cream Cheese Icing
- 1 Β½ ounces cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon maple extract (optional)
- 1 Β½-2 cups powdered sugar
- 9-16 pecan halves (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F.
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Beat in maple extract.
- In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture and chopped pecans to butter mixture and beat just until combined.
- Pour batter into a 9 inch square pan.
- Bake 25-30 minutes until the center is set.
- Remove from oven to a cooling rack. Let cool 10 minutes then cut into bars and allow to cool completely.
Frosting
- Beat cream cheese, maple syrup and maple extract if using in a small bowl. Add 1 Β½ cups powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add more powdered sugar or syrup to achieve your desired consistency.
- Spread over cooled blondies, decorate with pecan halves if desired.
