Use the amounts listed below should be as a general guide. The amount of milk you use will depend on how thick your yogurt is and how thick you want your lassi. The amount of sweetener will depend on how sweet your dragon fruit is.
It's your Dragon Fruit Lassi, make it as thick and sweet as you want.
What is dragon fruit?
Dragon fruit is a vibrant, sweet tropical fruit loaded with antioxidants and fiber. Called pitaya in Mexico, it is native to the Pacific coast of central America but is now grown in other tropical climates throughout the world. There are yellow, white and red dragon fruit, each named after the color of the flesh inside.
To serve dragon fruit, cut it down the middle and scoop out the soft center.
I used red dragon fruit from Melissa's Produce for this Dragon Fruit Lassi.
About cardamom
Cardamom is spice pod with a sweet, warm, spicy, and floral taste used in Scandinavia, India and the Middle East. Whole pods can be used, or it can be ground.
Because of the complex flavors in cardamom one substitute may not be enough in some recipes to get all of the same flavors. For this recipe, you can use your favorite spice or a combination of warm spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, or cloves.
I used ground cardamom from Selefina Spices to an extra layer of flavor to this Dragon Fruit Lassi.
