Bacon and Brie Wontons are a quick and easy hot appetizer that your guests are sure to love. Make them ahead and heat just before serving.

Do you need a mind blowingly delicious yet easy appetizer? Look no further than these Baked Bacon and Brie Wontons.

These simple appetizers combine salty bacon and creamy brie with some fresh herbs all in a crispy shell. You might want to make a test batch (or two) for yourself, because these will not last long.

Read on to find out how to make these tasty apps for your next party.

bacon and brie wontons on a plate

Wonton wrappers are great to keep on hand for quick and easy snacks or meals. You may even opt for a sweet version, like a smear of peanut butter and a few chocolate chips.

And when it comes to parties, who doesn't love a crispy little pocket of deliciousness? They are always a hit.

Fried, Air Fried or Broiled Wontons

These can be made by frying, air frying or broiling. All you want to do is crisp the outer shell and melt the brie a bit.

If you are trying to avoid frying for health reasons, just note that these only stay in the hot oil for a few minutes. Meaning they will not absorb as much oil as a piece of fried chicken for example that needs to be cooked through completely.

Instructions for all methods are included below.

Can you make Bacon and Brie Wontons ahead of time?

These can be prepared up to a day ahead of time and cooked at the last minute. Be sure to tightly cover with plastic wrap to prevent the wonton wrappers from drying out.

If you are frying you can cook them completely ahead of time, let them cool and broil them on high for a few minutes a side until the wonton has re-crisped and heated throughout.

    • In a small skillet, fry the bacon pieces until cooked.
      6 slices bacon

      1 package wonton wrappers
    • Place a slice of brie on each wrapper, add some bacon and herbs.
2 tablespoons fresh herbs (such as parsley, chives, cilantro)
    • Put some water in a small bowl, dip your finger in the water and wet the outer edge of the wonton wrappers, then fold in half and press to seal.
If preparing ahead of time, cover tightly in plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator until ready to broil.
    • To fry: In a deep frying pan, heat oil to 350 ℉ . Place wontons into hot oil. Fry till wrappers are golden. Remove from oil, drain on plate lined with paper towels.

Thank you for hosting! This is what I featured the week of 11-25 to 11-29 on my blog. On Tuesday morning were Christmas Almond Balls. Wednesday was a Red Velvet Oreo Trifle. And wrapping up the first week of Christmas baking is a Marilyns Treats original. My Death by Peanut Butter and Chocolate Trifle. Enjoy!
