Family Friendly Holiday Sangria for Your Celebration

December 15, 2019 Filed Under: Drinks

This family friendly Holiday Sangria recipe is a colorful mocktail of fresh fall/winter fruits, juices and sparkling cider or non-alcoholic wine.

glass of virgin mocktail with text overlay "family friendly holiday sangria"

Since this isn’t made with a nice dry wine like a traditional Sangria, it could be called a fruit punch. But Sangria just sounds more festive. Obviously, if you want an adult only version just switch the fruit juice for a bottle of red wine (Pinot Noir, Merlot, etc. ).

It is perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s or other holiday party when persimmons and cranberries are ripe. For the tea, I used Twinings Holiday Berry , but Bigelow Constant Comment, Celestial Sasonings’ Sugar Plum Spice or anyother orange or berry tea would also be good.

This sounds much nicer than a Shirley Temple. I love the complex flavors.

Thank you for hosting! This is what I featured the week of 12-9 to 12-13 on my blog. On Tuesday morning was my Sweetheart Fantasy Fudge. Wednesday was my traditional Buckeye Candy. And wrapping up the third week of Christmas baking are Dairy and Gluten Free Sugar Cookies. Enjoy!

I love that this is family friendly. It’s also nice to have something like this at holiday parties for designated drivers and pregnant women so they feel like they are drinking something special too.

I love the idea of an alcohol free drink. It’s so nice to include kids and non-drinkers (or drinkers who don’t want to do overboard)!

I love the idea of using tea as the base for sangria! Such a great way to make it family friendly and totally delicious.
