Mutato Pie, TMNT inspired dessert of Mutagen and mashed potatoes. Known to the rest of us as Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie is a delicious dessert, especially for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans.

Conversation in my house on Saturday morning:

    J: Mommy, I want a Mutato Pie.

Me: Okay, what is Mutato Pie?

J: It has mutagen on it.

(He just invented it on the spot. Unlike Pizza Gyoza, this isn't based on anything in any episode of the Ninja Turtles show, so I had free rein)

    Enter Daddy.

J: Daddy, we are going to make Mutato Pie.

Me: I thought I could tint some whipped cream green, maybe on a chocolate pudding pie.

Dad: Hmm, how about mint chocolate chip?

    J: Yes!

Dad: How about mint chocolate chip ICE CREAM pie?

    J: Oh, yes! That's it! That's what I want!

    Dad: I'd eat that.

So we went to the store for ingredients:

Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie

And when we got home I made the Mutato Pie.

Mutagen and chocolate pie topped with mashed potatoes and some dried mutagen sprinkled on top.

Two days later it is almost gone. The three of us come up with some pretty good recipes when we try.

    Instructions

    • Allow ice cream to soften slightly to be scoopable.
    • Spread ice cream over the pie crust.
    • Cover and freeze until ice cream rehardens. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles and serve.

I take it as a challenge when people say things like that. My brother snottily said he wanted spaghetti cookies once, so I made him some.

Thanks, Joanne. Are the Turtles big down under? Sometimes I hesitate to share stuff on the Say G'Day link up that are too American? Of course, how can you go wrong with mint chocolate ice cream pie?

The link you used for the party The Southern Special did not work, but I found it 🙂
Great pie, easy and I'm sure it was delicious. I had no idea where you were going with "mutato" pie. LOL

      This sound delicious!
I must make this ASAP, I love mint choco chip ice cream!
I'll admit, when I read the title I thought it was some sort of potato pie by the name! 🙂

The title of this one caught my eye on Say G'day Saturday. Very creative and sounds delicious. Anything with mint chocolate chip ice cream and an Oreo crust has got to be good. My favorite part is your husband's reaction, "I'd eat that." 🙂

i was wondering what mutato was! lol love it. Dont they just crack you up some times. You should see what gets added into our cookies sometimes. We have a rule if you add it you have to eat it... they always do but it limits my cookie eating!
